I don't get it. When people annoy me, I stay away from them in order to minimize the conflict that is sure to ensue if we interact. If I actually feel intense hatred toward someone, then I sure as hell will stay even further away to prevent the inevitable nuclear breakdown that would occur as a result of our conflict. So why, then, do some people go out of their way to bring two volatile creatures together, even with the best of interests?

I firmly believe that there are people in this world whom I will NEVER get along with. There are those who, for some reason or another, will ALWAYS rub me the wrong way. And in even more extreme cases, there will be those people whom I will detest for as long as I live, no matter what he or she does to try to change it. I'm not naive enough to think that I'm entirely loveable to everyone either. So yes, I have accepted that I won't get along with everyone. It's the same with all people. There will be some that will hate each other, no matter what you or anyone else does to try to change that. It's a fact of life. No amount of talking will change the fact that person A hates person X.

It's a primal instinct, I think. There are those people, who after just meeting with them once, I know will be my friend for life. And there are those whom I will never warm up to, despite our best intentions. Call it a gut feeling, if you will.

Of course, there have been instances where I have become very good friends with someone despite having mediocre feelings about them when we first met. But never have I gone a complete 180 and liked someone I depised. *shrug*

It's admirable, when some people try to smooth things over between two warring individuals. But in my opionion, it's a waste of time. I wish you luck, though, despite my negativeness...maybe you will be the one to prove me wrong. ^^
